The Spanish club announced on Sunday that former Manchester United full-back Neville had joined the coaching staff, working under head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

However, Neville -- who worked as a pundit for the BBC at the 2014 World Cup as well as on "Match of the Day" -- told the organisation later on Sunday that negotiations were ongoing and there was a long way to go before any deal was agreed.
Neville, 38, had worked at United as a coach under former manager David Moyes but was not kept on after the Scot was sacked and then replaced by Louis van Gaal at the end of the 2013-14 season.
Neville won 59 caps for England and lifted the Champions League, six Premier League titles and three FA Cups during his time with United.
He finished a 19-year playing career at Everton in 2013 before turning his focus to coaching.
